Programme Details:

Comprehensive Microsurgical Cataract Training Program (SICS/Phaco)

Objective: To enhance candidate’s skill in Advanced Cataract Microsurgical Techniques

Duration: Two to Three Months

No. of Candidates: 3 candidate every month.

Outline: All Candidates to perform around 30 SICS & 25 Phacoemulsification Surgeries during their 2 to 3 months tenure or as per the contracts between the candidate and the hospital unit. All surgeries will done under scrubbed and under the supervision by the senior consultant.

Accommodation: Residential accommodation will be provided at nominal cost to those who are selected and subject to availability. While allotting accommodation, preference will be given to out station candidates.

Educational Qualification: Ophthalmology PG Degree in MD, MS, DNB or DO recognized by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi and for international candidate prior approval of Medical Council of India, New Delhi.

Candidates employed elsewhere should produce a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of meeting and have the relevant certificates in the original.

Course Fees For Indian candidate

SICS (1,00,000/- 30 procedure)

  • Duration- 3 Month or as jointly decided by the candidate and the organization
  • Minimum Surgery to be put into practice by fellow- 50
  • Maximum Surgery to be put into practice by fellow- 100 or as jointly decided by the candidate and the organization

Phaco(1,00,000/- 25 procedure)

  • Duration- 3 Month or as jointly decided by the candidate and the organization
  • Minimum Surgery to be put into practice by fellow- 30
  • Maximum Surgery to be put into practice by fellow- 100 or as jointly decided by the candidate and the organization

  • Duration- 45 days or as jointly decided by the candidate and the organization
  • Hands on training- 25

 Timing
  • Timing will be 9.00am to 2.00pm
  • OPD and OT Schedule will be finalized by mentor
  • Surgical training approach will be on step by step basis and according to skill of fellow and will be finalized at the end of the mentor

Fellowship Program in Optometry

What will you learn?

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have passed B.Optom
  • Freshers and those with one / two years’ experience
  • Basic communication skills
  • Knowledge about common eye conditions, Glass prescribing guidelines, Basics about Low Vision care, Binocular vision care, Diagnostic procedures and Eye bank management.

Description

Fellowship in Optometry is designed to train the optometrists in the theory and practice of various subspecialities clinical optometry, and in urban vision centre, intense hands on exposure to various clinical conditions and diagnostic procedures, integrated learning of ocular pathology diagnosis and management through evidence-based practice and problem based learning and also to serve the community through community eye health programs.
